Orlando March 2008

I went to Orlando for a single training class, usually we do back to back classes but a clinic but we had a request to do a single class at an Orlando clinic. Usually I am happy to do a single training class, I get the frequent flier points and I am not gone all week.

The trip started out rough. I started feeling bad on Sunday and as the day went on it just got worse. I didn't get much sleep Sunday night, I decided that I would wait until the alarm went off a 5:00 am and if I could get up and shower I would go, if not I would have to call Mike so we could decide what plan B was- if he wanted to go or if we would reschedule. Luckily I felt well enough to shower and go.

Since it was spring break the plane was loaded with vacationers, this is actually nice because there was plenty of overhead room.

Class was good,at least the first day, I am wiring this at the end of the first day. The class is full of comedians, which is good, but is slows class down.

I am staying at the Courtyard Marriott on Magnolia. Not a bad hotel, my only complaint is the TV is way small, it is probably a 19 inch. I hoped to go to Church street since it is so close to the hotel. I was to tired on Monday to go but I did go tonight. I couldn't find a good place to park, there are plenty of one way streets so it is confusing. I also did not see any restaurant that looked that special, so I went back to the room to order room service. Even though my quest for food was not successful, it was nice to get out in the warm weather, it snowed in Minneapolis yesterday.

The second day of class went well, it was a bright group of techs. I had to go back to Minneapolis to soon, it has been a cool spring and I did not get a chance to enjoy the weather.
